Gospel music sisters, Winsie-Ann and Sherrose Cuffie,
with their 50-member team of performers, recently flew
to St. Vincent for the nation’s grand Gospel Fest event.
The Festival was hosted by the Government of St. Vincent
in collaboration with the International Youth for Christ
Organisation and Digicel.
“The Cuffie Sisters” as
they were advertised on the St. Vincent Government’s
website and media, were the main event of the night. In
their 75 minutes on stage, the huge crowd at the
Victoria Park Stadium, were treated to dynamic, anointed
Gospel music. Droves of young people flocked stage-side,
energetically dancing and waving throughout the Cuffies’
performance.
Among the dignitaries at
the Festival was Minister of Culture Renee Baptiste, who
warmly welcomed the Trinidad contingent. “I have heard
quite a bit about the Cuffie Sisters and it’s a great
honour to have you with us. We warmly welcome you and
your team”, the Minister said.
After the event, Baptiste
commented that she was “really impressed by the amount
of hard work that is evidently put into the high level
of performance and the standard of excellence of the
team”.
Chairman of the Gospel
Fest Committee and President of the Youth for Christ
Organisation, Fidel Taylor, remarked: “This is history
in St. Vincent. The Cuffie Sisters and their team have
not only blown me away with the phenomenal performance
and anointed ministry, but have blown away the entire
Festival Committee, our Minister of Culture and all of
St. Vincent. You have certainly exceeded our
expectations, lifted our Festival to another level and
made Trinidad and Tobago proud. What you have can change
the world! We’ll really love to have you back”.
To God be the Glory!
